Rassalyn Willis, Founder

Rassalyn Willis has demonstrated a strong and principled leadership style, while focusing on community-oriented initiatives. For the last 15 years, the community advocate, business owner and mother of four has served the community in numerous capacities. As executive director of the Motherless Daughters Foundation, she has established relationships with neighborhood leaders and federal, state and local government officials, enabling her to develop resources and effectively advocate on behalf of the community.

Willis is passionate about serving her community and has done so as a mentor, youth counselor, community volunteer and business owner. She has operated one of the first full-service salons and spas in the Historic District of College Park, Xclusive Hair Studio & Spa.

Born in Vicenza, Italy, as a young lady, Willis lived abroad in Panama and across the states of California, Washinghton, D.C, and New Mexico, to name a few. She studied Biology at Jackson State University and later received her cosmetology degree from Jackson Academy of Beauty. For the last 20 years, she has been a platform educator of healthy hair care and gained extensive training in product knowledge, customer care, and hair replacement.

Willis has used this experience to perfect her skills and bring creativity and naturalness to the hair. She maintains a commitment to quality services to help instill in young ladies the importance of personal image and hair styling. She began to use Pamper Day as a concept to help young ladies learn how to maintain hair and nails and also an outlet for the ladies to talk and relate.

As a competitive stylist, she has won numerous awards and has been featured in several magazines, including Upscale Magazine, Sophisticate’s Black Hair Styles magazine (numerous times), and others. A dedicated wife and mother of four children, Willis has had a passion to give back since she was a small girl. Mentoring young ladies is a calling for her, as she finds it important to help steer the new generation toward becoming leading role models.

Every Christmas at Xclusive Hair Studio & Spa, Willis hosts A Sickle Cell Christmas Toy Drive with Hughes Spalding Children’s Hospital. Other ways that Willis gives back to the community include being an active member of the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Airport Area Chamber of Commerce, the Atlanta Commerce Club, and as the advisor on the Empire Board of Directors. She is a member of Georgia Concerned Beauty Professionals and serves as the College Park Area coordinator of the Nationalist Stylist Association.

Willis has contributed to quite a few charitable events, such as Hot 107.9’s Hot Cuts & Curls, Gloria’s Day of Beauty, the Special Olympics and Dress for Success for homeless women, as well as Holiday Makeover with April Love, an event for women and children of an Atlanta shelter.

Her ultimate goal is to create a platform that nurtures confident, influential ladies of our communities
